2021 Garden City Rams Girls Lacrosse Club Senior League Registration (7th - 8th)
This application is for 7th and 8th grade GCGLC Senior League Community Teams registration.
The Senior League is a highly competitive, play-to-win league. Participating teams will contend for a league championship to conclude the season and the league's games will be officiated using high school rules (note - this is a full-checking league). As such, playing time and positions are completely in the discretion of the coaches. Your registration fee does not guarantee equal playing time. Playing time will be dictated by a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, game situations and each player's ability, work-ethic, attitude, style of play and commitment to the team.
We trust that the coaches will do their best to develop the entire team over the course of the season in order to put the team in the best position to contend for the league championships, while keeping the atmosphere fun and giving all players an opportunity to contribute to the team’s success.
We intend to enter a 7th grade team in the 7th Grade division and an 8th grade team in the 8th Grade division. If sufficient interest exists, we will enter a third team comprised of 7th and 8th grade players in the 8th Grade division, in which case team placement will be determined on the basis of a tryout conducted by independent evaluators.
- Registration Cost - $150 per player for players registered on or prior to February 15, including a additional $20 field usage fee being collected on behalf of the Village of Garden City.
- Sibling Discount - Cost for additional family members will be discounted by $35 for the second player registered and $85 for the third or fourth player registered.
- Uniform - Additonal Costs:
- $50 full uniform (Skort, Pinnie, GCGLC Tee Shirt, Socks)
- $20 Skort
- $20 Pinnie
- US Lacrosse Membership - All players must be a member of US Lacrosse for the entire 2021 season.
- We do not accept requests for players to be with other players or to be with a specific coach or team.
Spring Season - The Senior League season is expected to begin in early April and finish prior to Memorial Day weekend.
GCRGLC is a travel program, consisting of 8 game schedule, usually 4 home and 4 away. Games are typically played on Sunday but can be played on either Saturday or Sunday and, in cases where communities have field lights games may be scheduled during the evening hours. Day and time is at the discretion of the home community. The schedule will not be published until mid-March.
Conflicts with other sports - While we do our best to avoid conflicts, games and practices may conflict with other travel sports. We adhere to the same sports schedule as the middle school and high school, which designates lacrosse as a Spring Sport along with Softball, Track, Baseball, Tennis and Gymnastics. Therefore, we expect lacrosse is to take priority over any sport that is not listed as a spring sport according to the school sports calendar.
